ICED MATCHA LATTE AT HOME

YOUR MATCHA.NO QUEUE.
One glass. A measured recipe. Your usual milk.

You want an iced matcha before work. Making it at home shouldn’t need a counter full of equipment and six open tabs.

Start with Ippodo’s published iced-latte ratio below. Make it once, taste it, then adjust it. You don’t need to guess every morning.

The starting recipe.

For one iced matcha latte:

  • 3g pure matcha
  • 100ml water at 80°C
  • 100ml cold milk
  • Ice

You’ll need a bowl or wide mug, a strainer, a whisk and a glass. A scale that reads small amounts makes the powder easier to repeat.

This is a pure-matcha recipe. A sweetened latte blend can need a different dose, so check the pack.

Make the matcha first.

  1. Sift the powder into your bowl.
  2. Add the 80°C water. Whisk briskly back and forth for about 15 seconds.
  3. Put the cold milk and ice in your glass. Pour the matcha over them.
  4. Stir and taste before adding anything else.

If you want sweetness, add a little of your usual sweetener, stir and taste again.

Too strong? Too milky?

If it’s stronger than you enjoy, try a small extra splash of milk. If the tea disappears, use less milk in the next cup. Keep the powder the same while you work that out.

For a bitter or gritty cup, use this guide before buying another tin. If you’re choosing tea for a latte, the wording on the label won’t make that decision for you.

Save yourself the guessing.

Once you find a cup you like, write down the powder, grams, milk and water. Use the same glass if it helps.

Your morning routine doesn’t need to look like someone else’s video. It just needs to fit before you leave the house.

Want the strawberry version? Here’s the recipe. Same idea: measure it once so you can make it again.
